No he’s not a dinosaur from our imagination, but instead a storm headed our way.
Met Éireann has issued a Status Orange wind warning for the counties of Dublin, Wicklow, Galway, Kerry, Clare and Limerick as winds of 60 to 75km/h along with gusts of 100 to 125 km/h are expected this afternoon.
The warning was issued last night and comes into effect from 12pm and will remain in place until 9pm tonight.
Meanwhile, there is a Status Yellow weather warning in place for counties Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Kilkenny, Wexford, Westmeath, Offaly, Meath, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford, which remains in place until 8pm tonight.
“West to southwest winds will reach mean speeds of 55 to 65km/h and gusts of 90 to 110km/h during Tuesday afternoon,” warns the forecaster.
It has also been reported that the stormy weather may disrupt some flights, while motorists are being advised to take extra care on the roads today.

Storm Barney is expected to bring strong winds, particularly to the south of Ireland from Tuesday afternoon.
“It is important that members of the public pay attention to Met Éireann’s advisory as this weather system has the potential to deliver Storm Force 10 winds to Limerick for a period during the afternoon to early evening,” stated Limerick City and County Council.
“Members of the public are advised to remain indoors where possible during the storm and to stay away from rivers and other water bodies.”
