Melanie Verwoerd is no doubt celebrating the success of her book considering that it took so long getting it into the shops.
Last month a court ruling meant that the sale of the controversial memoir entitled When We Dance was postponed for two weeks.
A High Court ruling postponed the selling of the book for a fortnight.
However the delay doesn’t seem to have affected its sales as it has stormed to the top of the paperback non-fiction chart, beating Cheryl Cole’s autobiography, and is also sitting within the top five of the overall book chart which covers both non-fiction and fiction.
Melanie recently told the Irish Daily Mirror that she was happy about how well it is doing: “I think it shows that ordinary men and women in Ireland will make up their own minds once they’re read the book.”
She added: “I never expected that it was going to sell this well. I didn’t expect it at all.”
The autobiography reveals details about Melanie’s relationship with the late Gerry Ryan and thus has caused a bit of a stir.
Gerry and Melanie had a romantic relationship before his death in 2010.
