Meet Ceejay McArdle, a new recruit to the Gardaí.

The three-year-old, who is battling childhood leukaemia, is a big fan of our national police force and today, he’s graduating from Templemore as an honorary guard.

Garda McArdle, from Castleblaney in Monaghan, will join the newest bunch of recruits for their passing-out ceremony and he’s been busy preparing for the big day.

Photos uploaded to an official Facebook page, dedicated to updating people on his progress, show him polishing his boots and taking photos ahead of the all-important ceremony.

It’s thought that Ceejay had his official graduation from the Garda HQ in Dublin last week but today’s ceremony is all about celebrating his achievement.

The little boy, who was diagnosed with cancer last year, has had well wishes from police forces all over the world with his story touching so many.

His parents, Susan and Marcus, will attend alongside extend members of the family and if these photos don’t brighten up your day, nothing will.
