McDonalds Worker Who Threw Water In Homeless Man’s Face Has Lost His Job

And there's some good news for Willie, too.

Megan Cassidy

The man who went viral after he was filmed throwing water in a homeless man’s face, has been fired.

The footage showed the staff member, who remains unnamed, taunting the man with a sandwich before snatching it from his grasp and throwing the beverage over him.

In the film, he can be heard saying: “Hey Willie, come here. Do you want a sandwich?”

When the worker throws a drink, the man filming can be heard laughing as Willie is heard asking “Why’d you do that?”

Willie

The footage was branded “disgusting”, “vile” and “disgusted” by viewers on social media with many calling for the worker to lose his job.

Well, looks like McDonald’s were listening as they have now confirmed that he has indeed been fired.

Franchisee Wise Finley said: “I am very disturbed by the inappropriate behaviour of this employee.

“It is not tolerated in my organisation.

“I expect my employees to treat everyone with dignity and respect, and this was unacceptable. This individual no longer works for my organisation.”

A GoFundMe page has since been set up for Willie, who suffers from schizophrenia, by Illinois-based realtor Christine Ciana Calabrese.

She writes on the page: “Please help me raise funds to show him that there ARE people that CARE! Help me restore his faith in Humanity!

“This money will be used to provide supportive care for Willie, as he suffers from schizophrenia.

“Willie is not capable of handling funds of any magnitude, so I am currently interviewing different churches and social services which would be capable of distributing funds and necessities for this man; specialized living arrangements are also being investigated and considered.”

More than $400 has been raised towards a goal of $10,000 in just one day – you can donate here.

It’s good to see that something positive could come out of something so negative.
