People are really going to great lengths these days to smuggle things across the border...
A man was in a spot of bother in an airport in China, when it was discovered that he was attempting to smuggle a turtle through security that was disguised as a burger.
The man, named as Mr Li, was stopped at China’s Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, according to the Guangzhou Daily.

The smuggler denied to the airport security that there was any form of life in his luggage, allegedly shouting; “There’s no turtle in there, just a hamburger. There’s nothing special to see inside.”
The staff continued to rummage through his luggage and came across the small turtle hidden inside a burger. The “turtle” burger was smeared with mayonnaise.
When asked what Mr Li was thinking by bringing the turtle, he said that he couldn’t stand to be apart from his “beloved” turtle.
The passenger was to board a flight to Beijing but in the end was persuaded to leave his turtle with a friend while he went on his way.
