When people order frogs legs in a restaurant, it’s usually out of choice but when a customer in England bought a bag of spinach, the last thing he expected to find was a dead frog. (Even the thought of it is making us squirm!)
According to the Daily Mirror, Oliver Goldenberg and his wife from Middlesex were half way through their meal when he spotted the body.
And it will come as no surprise that neither he nor his wife were particularly overjoyed by the discovery. In fact you could say they were both hopping mad. And quite rightly so!
Mr Goldenberg said: “My wife is breast-feeding and is feeling sick at the thought of it… She had already eaten most of the spinach on her plate.”
The couple discovered the frog when they were eating a salad.
Tesco, where the spinach was from, has refunded and apologised to the customer but as yet are holding back on compensation until the matter has been investigated further.
What’s for sure, we will never look at a bag of spinach the same way again. In fact we’ll probably shake it about a bit and feel for any hidden frogs before putting it into our shopping basket!
