This story is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face on this Thursday afternoon. A man in Glasgow has been dressing up as a giraffe and spontaneously helping random strangers.
Known locally as the ‘Good Giraffe’ the creature was seen handing out free bananas and water to marathon runners and cleaning up litter on a nearby beach. But who is this masked marauder?
Well, his name is Armstrong Baillie and he’s become something of a local hero.
“It makes me happy when I see the difference in people when they seem in the suit. It makes them happy and it makes me feel cheery,” said Mr Baillie, speaking to the BBC.
“The reason I picked a giraffe is that I have always been interested in animals and giraffes are my favourite animal. Giraffes are like me, as my head is in the clouds but my heart is in the right place,” he added.
Mr Baillie dressed up as the “Good Giraffe” busking for money to fund his random acts of kindness
Mr Baillie has become a viral sensation in recent days, with various people tweeting about him and his long-necked alter-ego on Twitter.
The Good Giraffe, who can be seen busking to raise the funds he needs in order to carry out his random acts of kindness, says he has no plans other than continuing to make people happy.
We think he’s a bit of a legend. We wonder if there’s an Irish equivalent of the Good Giraffe out there?
