Met Éireann Issues Weather Warning Ahead Of Warm But Wet Weekend

The warning has been issued this morning and is in place until Saturday night.

Met Éireann has issued a ‘Status Yellow’ weather warning ahead of what sounds like a very warm but wet end to the week.

While the next few days are expected to be very humid, there is also a risk of heavy downpours and thunderstorms which the forecaster says could lead to local flooding, disruption or possible damage. The warning has been issued this morning and is in place until Saturday night.

Today is expected to be mainly dry with hazy sunshine. The east and north will get the best of the sunny spells. Temperatures will be between 19 and 24 degrees. This evening will bring heavy showers across the country and temperatures will drop although not by much (between 13 and 17 degrees).

Friday will be warm again with sunny spells and thundery showers. There will be a risk of hail and lightning as well but temperatures will still be around 18 to 22 degrees. Tomorrow night is much of the same with temperatures around 14 to 16 degrees.

As for the weekend, Saturday will be muggy with temperatures around 18 to 24 degrees. There will be spells of sunshine as well as heavy showers. Sunday will be a little cooler (18 to 23 degrees) with light breezes.

As always, and especially due to the weather warning that’s in place, be careful if you’re out and about.
