The Fifty Shades of Grey pandemonium seems to have had a lasting effect on the women of Ireland and if you think you have what it takes to be the next E.L. James, you’re in for a treat because a new class will teach you all you need to know!
Gone are the days of jotting down your name for a boring creative writing class because aspiring raunchy novelists can now learn to write erotically in classes at The Big Smoke Factory and the Irish Writers’ Centre in the capital.
According to The Sunday Times, The Big Smoke is holding a November workshop entitled The Language of Seduction: Writing Erotic Fiction, in which novelist Noelle Harrison will be lecturing on how to write passionate paragraphs.
The course promises to help you find your own “unique erotic voice”, learn the “language of seduction” and find “the balance between narrative and sex in your erotic novel.”

Meanwhile, The Irish Writers’ Centre is offering a course called Writing Desire: Flesh Made Word, which promises to explore “the context in which sexual acts take place.”
Don’t expect to leave school without any homework either as both courses are accompanied by a hefty reading list, full to the brim with naughty novels.
Claire Hennessy of Big Smoke said: “The course has certainly generated more interest than others. Inevitably some people will come along to the course who want to write their own Fifty Shades of Grey, but we want them to write something better than that.
“One of the things that has annoyed people about Fifty Shades is it is a pretty poor representation of the genre but for some reason seems to have captured the imagination of the public,” she said.
Will you be signing up for the sexy classes? We might just be tempted!
