Location, Location, Location

Cannes is located on the spectacularly beautiful French Riviera. The busy tourist destination is located on the South Eastern coast of the country, 20kms to the west of Nice and 160km East of Marseille.

Life’s a beach

Cannes boasts seven and a half kilometers of beautiful sandy beaches for you to soak up the sun on. Some trivia – Cannes spends 650,000 euros each year to reclaim 25,000 cubic metres of sand from the sea.

Wining and dining

If you really want the celebrity experience, try dining out at the Palme D’Or. The restaurant, which shares it’s name with the top prize at the festival, is situated on the ground floor of luxury hotel the Martinez. Expect to pay top dollar, but maybe it’s worth it if you’re sitting beside a star?

Try your luck

A little gambling is part of the Cannes experience, with the town offering three casinos for your to try your luck in. The Palm Beach is the furthest casino from the centre of the resort, but it may be worth the trip to the Pointe de la Croisette headland to enjoy the gaming terrace on to the Med, an on-site restaurant and nightclub and its own private beach.

Shop ‘til you drop

If you’re looking for bargains, you’ve come to the wrong place. Cannes is synonymous with luxury, so you can expect to see Saint Laurent, Chanel and the likes on La Croisette if you’re in the mood to really treat yourself. For the more high-street inclined, you’ll find Rue d’Antibes more to your tastes.

Dance the night away

When it comes to your nightlife options, they don’t come much fancier than Le Baoli. You’d never know who you may end up busting a move beside on the dancefloor, but you might recognise their pimped up cars outside and the €160+ bottles of champagne on their tables. How the other half live!

To say “I was there” take three nights in Cannes on a budget from as little as €255.00 per person at the 2 star Plm Hotel, or to join in with THE crowd get your head down in The Carlton Cannes 5 star hotel from €789 per person for 3 Nights. Travel on June 5th from Dublin.
