Talk about feeding the senses. This innovative new exhibition sponsored by Goodall’s of Ireland aims to tickle the tastebuds in a completely different way.
The Edible Art Gallery will feature 20 edible pieces of art from various Irish artists, bakers and confectioners across Ireland.
The foodilicious gallery installation is part of Culture Night and will take place on September 20th. The event is free to attend.
Featuring in this delightful gallery will be an “edible” interpretation of Roisin O’Farrell’s recent “Tea Cup Scandal” series of work, by bakers Niamh Geraghty from Perfectionist Confectionist and Geraldine Arnold from Cake My Day. Also, taking their inspiration from Simone Walsh’s painting “From Croke Park to Aviva”, 50 bakers, known collectively as “Cake Queens” will each bake and decorate a cake in their own unique and preferred edible medium and then bring all 50 cakes together to create one incredible piece.
In this fascinating exhibition, visitors are invited to create their very own edible pieces of art and nibble on a sculpture or installation!
The event has been organised by Dr.Sketchy’s and The Doorway Gallery and will take place at The Doorway Gallery on 24 South Frederick Street from 5 – 11pm.
