Every week in the Her.ie offices we are inundated with requests from people asking us to help them promote their charity events. While every cause is worthwhile, unfortunately we can’t get around to all of them and so for that reason, we have decided to put together some of these events from around the country. Every week, we will feature five events you should get behind or get involved with over the next few months. There are tonnes of amazing organisations in this country, let’s help them out.
1. Ireland’s GAA and Horse Racing stars for Cancer Research.
On Tuesday 12th of August, a who’s who of Irish celebs will be taking to the pitch at 6.30pm in Saint Conleth’s Park, Kildare for a celebrity hurling match in aid of the Irish Cancer Society to raise money for cancer research. The event, which has been organised for the third year in a row by horseracing legend Jim Bolger and champion jockey Davy Russell, will see a host of Irish hurling and horse racing stars come together for what promises to be, yet another, fantastic evening for everyone involved. 5. Candelight Summer Party in aid of the ISPCA.
The ISPCA Inspectors are at the forefront of animal welfare, they respond to allegations of cruelty, neglect and abuse and also to aid sick and injured animals. In the vast majority of cases our officers find a solution to most problems by working with the owners of the animal(s) involved. Unfortunately however, this is not always the case and on occasion instances of cruelty, neglect or abuse are uncovered. The ISPCA Inspectorate directly interacts with thousands of animals throughout the year, and where necessary competently follow prosecutions. However, the charity really need your help with fundraising and the below is a great event.
