Artist George Redhwak began losing his sight while he was studying medicine. In response, he used computer software’s and photo manipulation to begin trying to explain to the world what he sees.
“It’s an artistic expression of the confusion I go through with my vision loss,” Redhawk told The Creators Project. “Not enough data getting sent to the brain, and it tries to fill in the blanks with false information, so you can’t trust what your eyes or brain are telling you.” The resulting World Through My Eyes series is a haunting expression of his falsified world.
The gifs are the looping stories of how colour, movement and shapes alternate in the artist’s eyes. They’re mesmerizing.
