Fancy some good news? Well it’s Saturday and, if you’re lucky enough to be off work, you get to do absolutely nothing today. Awesome right? So why not brunch it up and indulge in this simple, scrumptious recipe?
French toast is a typical comfort food, although it can taste a little bland. This recipe uses vanilla and sugar to give traditional French toast a bit of a kick. It’s perfect for brunch or when you feel like something a bit different.
We love cooking up a batch of this on a lazy weekend morning. Why not treat your other half by surprising him with some breakfast/brunch in bed?
The best thing about this recipe? It’s quick, it’s simple and you’ll be able to climb back under the covers in the space of fifteen minutes. Brilliant.
French toast is great when you just want a comforting snack
You Will Need:
2 large eggs
Half a cup of milk (low-fat milk is fine, but full-fat milk will give a rounder taste)
1 tablespoon of sugar
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
Some white bread
Method:
Crack your eggs into a bowl and beat them. Next add the milk, the sugar, the vanilla and the salt. Beat the mixture again until all the elements have combined completely.
Heat up your frying pan and coat the pan with some butter.
Next, take a slice of bread and soak it in the egg mixture for 30 seconds on each side. Place it on the man and cook it until it is golden brown. Flip the bread over and repeat it on the same side. Your slice of bread should be golden brown on both sides and hot to the touch.
Take the bread off the pan, sprinkle a tiny bit of sugar over it and serve with some fresh strawberries.
Repeat the process for the rest of your bread and enjoy. It really is that simple! We guarantee this will become a weekend favourite in no time.
