Nothing can bring us down on a Saturday morning and what could be better than a yummy brunch to get your day off to a good start?
Accompanied with a strong, steamy cup of coffee we think this is the perfect Saturday treat! This recipe feeds four.
Ingredients
Two large apples (Whatever variety you normally go for will be fine. However if you choose Bramley apples they will have to be sweetened with sugar)
One tablespoon of granulated sugar
600 grams of natural yoghurt
Four large tablespoons of porridge oats
Two teaspoons of cinnamon
Method
Peel your apples and slice them, removing the core. Put a half an apple to the side.
Place them in a saucepan on a low heat and add two tablespoons of water.
Stew the apples until soft.
Taste them and add sugar if they are too bitter.
Next, place a saucepan on a medium heat and dry toast your porridge oats for two minutes or until crunchy.
Line up four ramekins and begin to arrange the cups starting with a layer of apple in each, followed by a layer of yoghurt and a layer of oats.
Cut up the remaining apple into chunks and disperse through the ramekins.
Repeat the layers once more and serve.
