We were surprised with some of these!

The people of Ireland have spoken and have officially voted their top ten least romantic destinations in the country.

We’ve got to say though, some of these surprised us!

Limerick nabbed the top spot for being the least romantic county in Ireland.

Longford and Leitrim took second and third spot while Dublin and Offaly rounded off the top five.

Counties Cavan, Roscommon, Louth, Laois and Carlow were also in the top ten of the survey carried out by Hotels.com.

The list is complied in terms of booking romantic trips away.

The research also revealed that one in ten Irish people change their name when they are checking into a hotel, with 14% of those saying the reason they do so is because a fake name is easier to spell than their real name… right…

“Using an alias is common for many hotel guests,” said Carolina Annand of Hotels.com. “Whether it’s for a bit of fun or they really are undercover.”
