JK Rowling Reveals Her Dark Depression Days When Harry First Struck Gold

The world-famous wizard-writing author reveals how the sudden fame and wealth sparked off a depression she had suffered from in the past.

Best-selling author JK Rowling has revealed it wasn’t all hunky-dory when she first earned her millions from her Harry Potter global sensation.

The author said she hit “rock bottom” and had to have therapy in the first few months of Harry becoming the world’s most famous wizard.

The troubled 47-year-old revealed the “overwhelming” pressure of being rich and famous plunged her into a depression.

The mum-of-three was hit with a barrage of begging letters as she became a household name.

She said she felt guilty when she realised she couldn’t help everyone.

She said; “You don’t expect the kind of problems that fame brings with it.

“I felt that I had to solve everyone’s problems. I was hit by this tsunami of demands.

“I felt overwhelmed. And I was really worried that I would mess up.

“Everything changed so rapidly and so strangely. I knew no one who’d ever been in the public eye.

“I didn’t know anyone whom I could turn to and ask, ‘What did you do?’. So it was incredibly disorientating.”

Harry Potter, the most famous wizard in the world, but his success wasn’t all positive.

Rowling, worth over €700 million, wrote her first wizard tale when she was a single mum living off benefits in Edinburgh. She famously dreamt up the idea of Harry whilst on a train.

Rowling said she felt suicidal at the time but the dark feelings returned when her books became a multi-million euro industry.

The author has sold over a massive 31 million books so far.
