James Gandolfini’s final acting appearance on television is unlikely to go to air says HBO.
Gandolfini, who died last June of a heart attack, had filmed a pilot for a show called Criminal Justice before his untimely death.

The 51 year old was famed for his role as mobster Tony Soprano in The Sopranos
Programming president Michael Lombardo said that he couldn’t see the show going to air without Gandolfini in the drama.
The TV show is an adaptation of the 2008 BBC series and was going to see Gandolfini playing a New York lawyer.
Speaking to The Television Critics Association, the HBO executive said it was difficult to even imagine recasting Gandolfini’s role and that it was unclear what future there was for the project.
Gandolfini had in fact finished two films, Animal Rescue and Enough Said, before he died last June.
Enough Said will be premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
