When it comes to Christmas presents it seems as though it isn’t the thought that counts – apparently the price tag is worth a hell of a lot more.
According to a new survey, most women want their man to spend half a week’s salary on their Christmas present.
Greedy? Who us? Don’t look at us like that boys, because we’re not the only ones who have euro symbols in our eyes.
A survey of shopping habits, commissioned by the Golden Square Shopping Centre, revealed that while women would expect the men in their lives to spend the bones of €400 on their Christmas present, most men expect a Christmas gift worth €195.
Apparently, it’s all down to how much our man earns – namely, if he earns more than us, we expect him to flash the cash when it comes to the festive season.
Would you be disgusted if your man didn’t spend a certain amount of money on you?
“What this shows is that girls love to be treated like a princess and spoilt. It might be a cliché but the sexiest thing about a man to many women is his wallet,” said Brandon Wade, the founder of naughty website SeekingArrangement.com.
“Women want to be pampered and they expect men to spend far more on them than they do on their men,” he added.
So what’s at the top of our list when it comes to expensive presents then? Of the women surveyed, the vast majority rated a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes as the gift they would most like to receive. Burberry, Jimmy Choo and the infamous Birkin bag also ranked high.
It seems like we have some very expensive taste. But we’re curious. When it comes to Christmas gifts would you be mad if your man didn’t spend a certain amount on you or do you believe that the thought behind the gift is the most important thing?
