It’s Crunch Time: All Eyes On Ladies Football Qualifiers This Weekend

There’s an interesting line-up of ladies football action this weekend as the TG4 Round 2 qualifier action continues. First up Antrim and Wexford will go head-to-head in the intermediate qualifiers at Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath at 3.30pm. Aisling Doonan will be key for Cavan. All eyes will then turn to Kingspan Breffni Park in Cavan where there’s an extremely interesting double header in store. Near neighbours Cavan and Monaghan will do battle for a coveted spot in the All-Ireland quarter-finals against Leinster champions Dublin. Click on image to enlarge. Cavan come into the came off the back of a comprehensive defeat over Down in the last round. Monaghan meanwhile will have regrouped following their Ulster final defeat against Donegal recently and this should be a close and tight game throughout. Westmeath's Johanna Maher in action. At 7.15pm it will be the turn of Westmeath and Armagh in what is set to be another closely-contested encounter. Westmeath come into the game after a Leinster final defeat against Dublin. They will be hoping to have enough to defeat Armagh who edged past Laois in the last round. Click on image to enlarge. The sides have previously met on two other occasions this year, with Armagh having the better of the Lake County each time. The winner will go on to meet Ulster champions Donegal in the quarter-final.
