However tired or weary you may feel after the hard week’s work, we’re saying don’t waste your weekend slouching about on the couch at home…
The Friday Feeling in the Her.ie office is telling us to get up and go! Rain or shine ladies, we have five fun-filled activity suggestions for this September weekend!
Hit The Beach
Okay, we mightn’t be living on the sun-scorched Florida coast but sometimes we tend to forget how lucky we are that our country has such a beautiful coastline. Grab the opportunity to pack up the car this Saturday or Sunday and head to the nearest sandy shore. If you’re up for a bit of an adventure, avail of the waves and don your wetsuit to go for a refreshing (your adrenaline will get you through the cold we promise!) swim or learn how to surf if you happen to visit a beach with a few boards on standby. Equally, wrap up warm and bring the rug, picnic and your page-turner and relax on the sands for a few hours…bliss.
Grab Your Wheels
How about set up a day’s adventure of cycling? Take out the map, plan your route, grab your bikes and go. Nothing beats a day of good exercise, fresh air and fun on a bike with your partner, family or friends. And after a hot shower and nice dinner, you’ll really feel like you deserve your Saturday night by the television. For some relaxing body prep, check out tonight’s TV schedule first…
Get Your Bake On
So, despite all our enthusiasm, it turns out that the weather is horrific. Don’t despair. Take a leaf out of the recent baking enthusiasts’ book and experiment with a few cake-tail recipes this weekend… delicious.
Impromptu Girls’ Night
Whether you choose to stay in with movies, popcorn and a bottle of wine, invite the girls over for some experimental cocktail tasting or head out to the local with your friends, what better excuse than to get all the girls around and enjoy a night together this weekend?!
Support Your Own!
And we don’t just mean if you’re from one of the counties involved in the GAA Camogie Finals this weekend, take the opportunity to head out to Croker anyway and support the women’s sport. Soak up the match atmosphere as Down take on Meath in the Junior Final, Derry face Galway in the Intermediate and Cork and Wexford battle it out for the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Final. Cailini abu!
