It’s A Bank Holiday Weekend… But The Weather Isn’t Great

Sad face.

Rebecca McKnight

If you were hoping to top up your tan and get the barbecue out this Bank Holiday weekend, you’re going to have to change your plans as the weather isn’t going to be great.

According to Met Éireann, it’s more of a weekend for catching up on your favourite television show or snuggling up on the sofa with a good book.

This afternoon will bring thundery downpours with a risk of localised flooding in Munster and Leinster. Temperatures will be around 16 to 18 degrees. Tonight, the rain will move northwards and temperatures will drop to around 9 to 12 degrees.

Saturday will be wet in the east with heavy rain and a risk of flooding. It will be bright in the west however with a chance of some sunny spells. Temperatures will be around 15 to 18 degrees. Rain is expected to continue into tomorrow night with temperatures of 8 to 11.

On Sunday, Ulster will see the worst of the weather with rain showers but these are expected to clear as the day goes on. The rest of the country will be mainly dry with some isolated showers and temperatures around 14 to 19 degrees.

Monday, like Sunday, is expected to be dry with some showers and sunny spells. It will be slightly warmer than the rest of the weekend with temperatures around 18 to 21 degrees.
