Be still our beating hearts and grumbling tummies.
If you’re a fan of a Sunday evening pizza on the couch, you’ll want to feast your eyes on this.
Those clever Italians broke the world expert for the longest pizza ever made this weekend serving up a margherita delight measuring over one and a half KILOMETRES long.
The feat was achieved at Milan’s 2015 Expo, where Guinness World Records judge Lorenzo Veltri was on hand to verify the record.
Eighty Italian chefs helped to bring the title back to Italy, eclipsing the previous World Record holders Spain.
The tasty creation was laid out across a whopping 800 tables for the verification process before happy onlookers dived in for a slice.
It’s a fitting homecoming for the title, as the Margherita is native to Naples in southern Italy, where it was first made in 1889.
