A frightening statistic in this latest Verizon commercial states that 66 percent of 4th grade girls say they like science and math, but only 18 percent of all college engineering majors are female.
Although they don’t examine in depth the reasons why this occurs, they do allude to the fact that over the years, many girls start to take on subconsciously what they hear on an everyday basis in reference to their appearance.
