For those of you are unfamiliar with the Pirelli calendar let us explain… Pirelli is an Italian tyre company that has since 1964 released a nude calendar, artfully displaying some of the hottest women on the planet in a far flung exotic location.
It sounds cheap but in reality it’s anything but as these aren’t just any boobs on display – they’re artfully photographed A-list nipples and they aren’t shot by just any photographer, but by some of the most famous and iconic fashion and lifestyle photographers of all time. See? Totes classy. But what does this have to do with tyres you say? Absolutely nothing but since when did men need an excuse to ogle women’s bodies?
So, now that you know what the Pirelli calendar is, you’re dying to have a peek aren’t you? Well, we hate to be the bearer of bad news but if you’re hoping to catch a glimpse of the crème de la crème of this year’s hottest bods, you’ll be seriously disappointed because the girls are all FULLY clothed! And, the calendar has been shot by ‘serious’ National Geographic photographer Steve McCurry (he of “Afghan Girl” fame) so it’s less about boobs and bums and more about celebrating the female form in a more conservative setting.
Shot in Rio, the calendar features a very pregnant Adriana Lima (probably best to not sexually objectify a heavily pregnant woman), Karlie Kloss, Petra Nemcova and Isabeli Fontana among others and each shot seems to focus more on capturing the essence of the person and the city rather than the classic Pirelli T&A formula.
Is she not going to flash that boob?
