Boxing might be the sport on everyone’s lips for the day that’s in it – but across the country the men and women of Galway, Cork, Tipperary and Kilkenny are gearing up for a weekend of hurling action.
While proud fans wearing county jerseys will of course dominate the weekend scenes– some Galway ladies are opting to don an alternative uniform.
Galway Girl is an Irish owned brand using the highest ethical manufacturing standards, and bringing some playful pieces for proud Galwegians to the market.
The notion of being a ‘Galway Girl’ is some source of pride, given the enduring popularity of the famous song, and the Galway Girl t-shirts are a cute way to show some county solidarity. All the more necessary this weekend, as Galway take on the county whose fans probably rate themselves highest in terms of local pride… the rebel county of Cork.
The t-shirts come in a variety of styles, many in the famous maroon and white of Galway but also in pretty pastel shades, and sport slogans such as ‘Proud to be a Galway Girl’ or ‘Is mise Galway Girl’.
Styles for men and children are also available, along with accessories.
Galway fans can order the t-shirts year round through the website, www.galwaygirl.com, but to make sure you have yours in time for the match this weekend you can purchase the t-shirts from OMG@Zhivago, Shop Street, Galway – where all t-shirts are currently on special offer.
