The game against Scotland on Sunday was a nail-biter, with just one point separating the teams at the end of the first quarter.

The Irish side began to take the reins of the game in the second though, with Aoife McDermott, Niamh Dwyer and Sarah Woods all on target to increase their lead to 32 to 23 by the interval.

Scotland were determined not to give up, and closed the gap back to within three in the third quarter, but the Irish side held firm and came back to lead 58 to 39 heading into the last and finished on an 80 to 55 point win.

On Monday it was another nail-biting affair, as the Irish put up a fantastic challenge against Luxembourg.

James Weldon’s side needed to overhaul the hosts’ aggregate lead from the opening game, but in the end, the task was just beyond them as Luxembourg hung on in a low scoring battle, edging home 53-48 at the death.
