Irish Radio Station Nominated as the Most Innovative in the World

Dublin station SPIN 1038 have been nominated for Most Innovative International Radio Station

They’ve got a unique ‘SPIN’ on news, views and the way they bring their listeners music, and it’s earned SPIN 1038 a nomination for Most Innovative International Radio Station.

The Dublin station has been nominated for the title at the Worldwide Radio Summit Awards, which takes place in Los Angeles this May.

The event itself is described as “the annual gathering of the most forward thinking minds in radio, digital / social and music”, and the Irish crew are up against some of the biggest names in the industry, most notably BBC Radio 1 in the UK.

Speaking about the nomination, Spin1038 CEO Jamie Crawford said;

Innovation is at the heart of everything we do and I believe the nomination is testament to the forward thinking nature of the staff in SPIN 1038 and the progress we have made in the digital/social space, which has also helped us grow in listenership. You cannot nominate yourself for this award so it’s such a fantastic recognition from the Music and Radio Industry across the world.”

It’s another honour for the station, who have grown Prime Time Market Share in Dublin by 40% in the past year, and operate two of the most popular social media accounts in the country with over 174,000 fans on Facebook and over 100,000 followers on Twitter.

Best of luck to the Irish in LA!
