If you’ve always wanted to be part of First Dates – without, y’know, the pressure of the on-camera date – then this is your lucky day.
Coco Television, who produce First Dates Ireland, are looking for background daters in the show for the new season.
The episodes will be filmed between Thursday, August 25 to Tuesday, August 30, so you have to be available on those dates.
As a background dater you get all the perks of a #FirstDatesIRL date without being featured on the telly! Appy at https://t.co/y9SJiiTfkb

They’re especially in need of more men to apply, so start goading your single male relatives and friends now.

I can personally recommend taking part in the series. Last year, I ended up as a background dater on the UK version of First Dates. I’d originally applied to me a main dater, and went through the whole application process for that.

In the end, on filming day, I was set up with a nice guy, we had dinner, and a few drinks, and our date was used to for establishing shots and was spliced in between the “main” dates. I even got a close up and some speaking time – something about me making fun of my date for not liking Madonna. It’s all a bit of a wine-induced blur tbh.

Anyway, the point is it was huge fun, and I still get people telling me they caught me in the background of the show even today, almost 18 months later!
@Tweet_Dec almost sure I caught a glimpse of you on First Dates tonight
