Acclaimed Irish author Colm Tóibín has made the shortlist for the prestigious Man Booker Prize.
His novel “The Testament of Mary” is one of six books on the list which has been announced in London.
Tóibín’s book is the only Irish novel to make the shortlist, despite two other Irish nominees in the longlist. He’s now even closer to winning the title and the £50,000 prize.
Here’s how the Man Booker Prize team announced the shortlist on Twitter via Vine:
The other shortlisted authors include Eleanor Catton (The Luminaries), Jhumpa Lahiri (The Lowland), Jim Crace (Harvest), NoViolet Bulawayo (We Need New Names) and Ruth Ozeki (A Tale For The Time Being).
The Man Booker Prize was won last year by Hilary Mantel. The winner will be announced at a ceremony on October 15th.
