On top of that, the top three must-haves for the ultimate road trip were listed which included a great playlist, sunglasses and snacks.

We can certainly get on board with those!

Top of the playlist for the Irish out on the road was AC/DC’s Highway to Hell which was followed by Free Fallin’ by Tom Petty.

Meanwhile, 62 per cent of people went on a driving holiday as a child, with Kerry being the most popular destination and playing ‘I Spy’ named as one of people’s favourite things about road trips.

One in five people wanted Chris O’Dowd as their companion on the trip, with James Corden in second spot and Dara O’Briain in third.
