Irish photographer Peter Cox has launched his first collection of photographs The Irish Light, which is filled to the brim with stunning images of our beautiful country.
The artist was sick of looking at boring photographs of “of blue skies and grazing sheep” and set out on a journey to capture the truly magnificent images of Ireland.
The marvelous collection has been years in the making and Peter revealed that it has been a huge challenge.
“The front cover image alone was five years in the making. I returned to the same point every time a storm hit just wishing for the right conditions.
Peter’s collection was years in the making
“I’ve spent many hours hanging out of the side of helicopters and perching on the edge of 30 metre high rocks in the stormy Atlantic Ocean waiting for the perfect light.
“Sharing the pure joy I feel when I capture in a photograph the real character of this unique island is worth any amount of discomfort or midnight alarm calls,” he said.
Her.ie has truly enjoyed the sneak preview and this fabulous little book will certainly be filling our stockings this holiday season.
