In the age where the World Wide Web knows just as much about our family and friends as we do, we can only wonder what will happen to our online profiles when we pass away.
In its eight years of existence a massive 30 million Facebook users are now deceased, with an estimated 10,273 dying every day.
So what exactly happens to our social media profiles and online presence when we die? Webpage FX decided to put together this infographic to detail our online afterlife and the results are pretty startling.
If Facebook stops growing deceased members will outnumber living accounts in 2065. If the social network continues to grow at the rate it is now that crossover will not occur until 2130.
The majority of social networks will allow profiles to remain untouched unless specifically asked by a family member or a person of the law. Twitter begins deleting accounts after six months of inactivity.
