In Photos: Chef Shows What it’s Really Like to Work in a Fine-Dining Restaurant

Chef highlights the many steps that goes into preparing a delicious meal.

Una Kavanagh

A former chef of the Casbah Mediterranean Kitchen and Wine Bar in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania gave people an interesting insight into how a restaurant really works and what goes on behind-the-scenes.

The series of photos was uploaded by Reddit user jObe (who is not the chef), and we’re taken on a journey through the restaurant, from prep work, planning meals, avoiding burns, to the dining table.

Just goes to show how much goes into what sometimes appears to be a simple meal:

And you may get burnt…

There’s a lot of planning involved…

And an inventory needs to be kept…

And even more prep work…

As well as helpful reminders…

But you get to try out all these cool gadgets like CryoVac machines…

And in the end it starts to come together…

It all comes together in the end…

It’s quite a cool insight into the kitchen world! According to Redditor Marc Suile, the chef in the photos is working, “at a new place down south and he’s an amazing guy.”
