In a Relationship on Facebook? Have You Seen Your “Us” Relationship Page?

Has the social networking giant gone too far with its latest addition?

Are you listed as being ‘in a relationship’ on Facebook? If so you might want to check out your relatively new “us” page. What’s that you ask?  Well, it’s the random page that Facebook has created on your behalf that details ALL your interactions with your other half.

Yes, you read that right. The social networking website has gone to the trouble of making a page that’s all about yourself and the person you smooch.

In order to access your new “us” page, simply log on to Facebook as you normally would and type in the address: www.facebook.com/us. Chances are you’ll be greeted with a beaming cover photo of yourself and your beloved.

Did you know that you had a special relationship “us” page on Facebook?

Here in Her.ie towers, we’re all for a few PDAs every now and then (well, within reason) but the idea of a page that notes every change in your relationship creeps us out ever-so-slightly.

And what if yourself and himself break up? There’ll be an entire page to commemorate the demise of your love. Nice.

So what do you think? Has Facebook stepped a little bit too far into our personal privacy with this idea? Is it time we all started leaving out our relationship details when it comes to our Facebook profile?
