“I’ll Be There” Eleven Things We Learned From Baywatch

It was compulsory Saturday night viewing, just after the News but just before Star Trek: The Next Generation. Baywatch taught us a lot about water safety but there was a lot more to it than just that. Here are eleven things we learned from one of the greatest shows ever to grace our screens. 1. Slow motion makes everything look better. Go run in slow motion right now, you'll see what we mean. 2. David Hasselhoff is King of the Universe. He can do anything, save anyone. Even Spongebob. 3. Lifeguards don't just save lives, they save the world. Constantly. 4. Know your CPR, KNOW YOUR CPR. This is just general good sense. 5. There are tough decisions to make every day. Should I save this bad man who is a drug dealer or not? Of course I will, I'm a lifeguard! But I must have a moral dilemma about this. 6. No lifeguard looks like Pamela Anderson. You can search everywhere, you'll never find her. 7. Lifeguards are always in danger. They may be saving lives but they could be in danger too... 8. The killer intro made up for everything else. Without the series, this is just a great tune. 9. You need a REALLY high leg on those swimsuits... Ordinary swimsuits are not the way forward apparently. 10. Quite a number of lifeguards can develop alcohol and drug problems. It's the stress of David Hasselhoff being so great. 11. Sometimes you just need to let things go... No, Baywatch Nights, no.
