Cathy’s Choice: Under the Covers
Cathy says: I got the chance to interview author Emma Hannigan last week and it was an absolute privilege. Emma is currently battling cancer for the ninth time while juggling a career writing multiple bestsellers. That’s pretty impressive on paper and in person, Emma is just as lovely as you’d imagine. Warm, hilarious and the kind of woman you just want to be friends with, I might just have a new girl crush.

Sue’s Choice: Hamm-ing It Up
Sue says: My favourite story of the week was the brilliant tale about Paul Rudd and Jon Hamm hanging out together in college and trying to win over a girl with a game of Trivial Pursuit in college. What absolute legends.

Rebecca’s Choice: A Little Singing Superstar
Rebecca says: This story really hit home with me this week. This little girl has been through so much and she deserves to just be a kid and enjoy herself. If singing along to Katy Perry does that, then that’s fantastic.

Grace’s Choice: Road Trip! Republic Style
Grace says: I don’t know what they put in the water over at the RTÉ studios but Republic Of Telly is on a roll. This week’s highlight sketch ‘The Trip’ is some of their finest work to date. They manage to sum up just about every Irish road trip in one video. My personal favourite line was when they crossed over the border into the north and only noticed by the smooth roads. Fantastic work lads, keep it up!

Michelle’s Choice: Let It Go
Michelle says: I, like most animation fans in the world right now, am kind of obsessed with Frozen. In the months since it was released, we’ve seen thousands of covers of the stunning Idina Menzel song from the soundtrack, Let It Go. This take, from a Dublin four-year-old, is my favourite to date though. This boy’s got game.

Úna’s Choice: A Taste of Asia
Úna says: For our Insider’s Guide this week, I decided to feature the wonderful capital of Vietnam, Hanoi and incidentally the city where I was born! With its vibrant and bustling culture and exotic food, Hanoi is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best.

Liz’ Choice: The Return of Rice
Liz says: I burnt out my first copy of O in the first week I bought it, and it’s still one of my favourite albums I’ve ever owned. I may love a bit of pop music, but this man is pretty much my adolescence in one cover sleeve. So I might have yelped in excitement when I heard he was playing a gig in Whelans. I’m a little devastated I didn’t get a ticket, but I’m hoping they announce a new album on the night.
It seems only fair, right? Cheers Damo – looking forward to it.
