Cathy’s Choice: Dude Looks Like A Lady

Cathy says: I was delighted to hear that Mrs Doubtfire is making a return to the big screen. It’s still hilarious, eleven years on and I laugh every time. I also love Elf and David Berenbaum, who wrote the script has been signed up to this too. It’s all very exciting!

Úna’s Choice: Take Care of Yourself

Úna says: These days we all live varied but busy lives but sometimes we forget to talk and look after our mental health. Like your physical self, it’s vitally important that we take time out and look after our mental wellbeing. Never be afraid to accept yourself for who you are – everyone’s unique and nobody’s perfect.

Sue’s Choice: Feeling The Fear

Sue says: My favourite story from this week was the Stages of Fear. I wrote the article after a particularly horrendous weekend night out that went kind of mental and spent some of the next day trying to piece together what had actually happened. Everyone has been there and everyone has lived this and I loved that people just started tagging their friends underneath who had also been there with them. It’s not easy.

Rebecca’s Choice: I do, I do, I do!

This proposal story put a smile on my face simply because I’m a hopeless romantic at heart and, unlike some of the other videos you see, it was sweet without being too over the top. Also, they both just seem really happy and completely in love. Aww.

Grace’s Choice: Lucius – A Name To Remember

Grace says: Recently I caught up with Jesse from Lucius, a New-York based group that have quickly become my new favourite band. If you’re into new music I promise that after reading (and listening) to this piece you’ll be thanking me for bestowing such authentic musical genius upon you! Rolling Stones magazine labeled them ‘the best band you may not have heard of yet’, and they weren’t kidding. I will admit, pigeonholing this quintet into one musical genre is difficult. With elements of folk, soul, punk and even country, Luciusis one group that you definitely will not be forgetting in a hurry.

Marie’s Choice: A Date with some Chicken

Marie says: When I first came across this story earlier this week, I thought that it must be a spoof but it appears that KFC is actually selling corsages with with chicken attached! Given the never-ending wait for dinner at most weddings, I promise to give my +1 to ANYONE who can get me one of these.

Michelle’s Choice: Jealousy Never Pays

Michelle says: I cried with laughter earlier this week when I saw this video. We don’t know where or when, but this young man (with serious moves) taught one little girl a lesson she’ll never forget. The green-eyed monster is an ugly beast, it must be shut down. We hate to see anyone cry… but this really is very, very funny.

Liz’ Choice: Tune!

Liz says: Say what you want, Pitbull is a nightclub classic and he’s guaranteed to get you dancing. So when a new version of Timber did the rounds we could have been skeptical – until we saw the genius dubbing of Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama take centre stage. Pure amazing.
