Cathy’s Choice: V for Valentino
Cathy says: I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again but I’m just a teeny bit obsessed with all things fashion. I’m in my happy place researching the history of design houses and how famous designers began their careers. Valentino has created many the red-carpet creation and his elegant yet show-stopping designs are in a word, dreamy.

Sue’s Choice:
Sue says: My favourite story for this week was the piece about Nicholas Winton who saved 669 children from Nazi-occupied Czechoslavkia during the Second World War. Nicholas turned 105 at the end of last week and is due to receive the highest honour in his the Czech Republic, the Order of the White Lion. Nicholas’ party was attended by some of those he had saved and some of their relatives. If you can get through this without crying, you are far stronger than us.

Rebecca’s Choice: The Sun Will Come Out, Tomorrow…
Rebecca says: How could this not be my favourite story? It’s a bank holiday weekend, I have nowhere to be and the weather is supposed to be relatively good. I honestly could not ask for much more… apart from a nice glass of wine and some chocolate to enjoy in the mild weather of course!

Úna’s Choice: Don’t be afraid to ask for help
Úna says: This month is Green Ribbon month, where people are encouraged to start a conversation and the more emotional aspects of their lives. This week I put together a list of helplines and websites for people to contact if they need help, broken down into sections dealing with: mental health; suicide and bereavement; drugs and alcohol; sexuality; pregnancy and sexual health; eating disorders; domestic violence and support for parents. Remember, minding your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health.

Grace says: People argue that technology is ruining our lives and taking us away from proper communication with others, which is true, to a certain extent. Sexting is something that we all and so this week I put together 10 sexting tips. When it comes to the ‘perfect sext’ there are a few rules that we should all adhere to… Never show Adam a picture of your Eve.

Michelle’s Choice: Dance Around the World
Michelle says: My ultimate feel good story of the week came courtesy of Irish lads Kevin Cobbe, Chris McGrath and Iain McNamara, who decided to film some Riverdance-style moves in every one of the 23 countries they visited in what looks like one epic year. The resulting video has been viewed over 230,000 times since, and I’d be willing to be a fair few of those views came from the Her.ie offices.

Liz says: I love a good dance off, and when it involves a cute kid throwing some shapes, well it’s pretty much perfect viewing. My favourite story of the week has to go to this little toddler who embodies the soul of Beyoncé and the hips of Shakira. Watch this and tell me you don’t love her too!

Marie says: My favourite story this week was the inspirational tale of a woman who achieved her dream of becoming a bodybuilder despite being born without arms. We all have days where it’s a struggle to get motivated but this story is proof that anything is possible is you put your mind to it. What a woman!
