It’s the scourge of weddings for some, the ultimate way to share for others. So what is the social media policy when it comes to saying I do in the age of Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and more?
This clever infographic, compiled by Ocean Sands Hotel, outlines some of the big markers of the Big Day and how modern brides are embracing or shunning the social trends.
Some of the big findings:
A whopping 70 per cent of women start wedding inspiration boards on Pinterest before getting engaged.
Over 28 per cent of brides-to-be update their relationship status within hours of saying yes, while a further 24 per cent update within one day.
Many couples now opt for a wedding hashtag and include it on their wedding programmes, encouraging guests to use it throughout the celebrations.
Switching off entirely for a honeymoon period was not an option for many couples either, with 73 per cent of couples admitting that the planned to use social media while on honeymoon.
