Heston Blumenthal is known for his love of the wacky, but it seems things have gotten even more bonkers in his multi-Michelin star restaurant.
The talented chef has admitted that when it comes to cleaning his palate, there is nothing more useful than a mouthful of tampons to soak up the creaminess of one of his world class favourites, including his famous snail porridge.
According to The Irish Sun, Heston said: “If you drain the moisture from your mouth you experience richness, creaminess and sweetness more intensely and nothing’s more absorbent than tampons.
Should Tampax be marketing their product to a different crowd?
“It grows and sucks the moisture out and gets wet, swollen and wooly.
“Although, it is quite funny sitting there with a string coming out of your mouth.”
However, Heston was horrified when a reporter suggested he serve them at his restaurant to guests who wished to clean their palates.
“There’s no way I am serving them in my restaurant,” he said gruffly.
Thanks for the sound advice Heston, but we think we’ll be avoiding the tampons in the kitchen, thanks very much.
