Heart-Breaking: 94-Year-Old Widow Receives Remains of Husband after 60 Years

He died during the Korean War.

On Friday 94-year-old Clara Gantt finally received her husband’s remains, six decades after his death.

Army Sergeant Joseph Gantt died as a prisoner of war during the Korean War back in 1951 but it is only now that his widow is finally getting some closure.

The above picture was taken at the moment she saw her husband’s coffin covered with the American flag. She told the Los Angeles Times: “I always did love my husband. We was two of a kind. We loved each other [sic].”

Clara added: “I am so happy that I was living to accept him.” According to reports the Army Sergeant 1st Class will be buried in Inglewood, California.
