There’s been a lot of unpleasant food news in recent weeks. First there was the horse meat scandal, then people started finding weird things in their KFC meals and now? Now a seven-year-old girl has found a clump of cow’s hide in a packet of Iceland beef.
The Daily Mail reports that the child was left in tears after she found a clump of skin covered in hair in a home-cooked lasange that had been made with a packet of beef mince from Iceland.
Trudy Stock said that her daughter has suffered nightmares since she made the discovery. The clump of skin is believed to be cow’s hide and was found in a £3 packet of frozen mince bought in an Iceland store in Hampshire.
“It’s completely traumatised her now. She was in buckets of tears. She was enjoying it until she found that and burst out crying,” said Ms stock.
Here’s a picture of what the little girl found. Warning: if you don’t like hairy things or if you have a weak stomach, you may not want to look at this…

According to Ms Stock, Iceland investigated the incident and gave her £30 in vouchers as an apology.
“Iceland has apologised to the customer and offered a gesture of good will and we will carry out an investigation with our supplier to determin how it happened,” said a spokesman for the frozen food store.
