Happy World Theatre Day: Shows to Go See This Fortnight

In honour of World Theatre Day, here are five shows that are on around the country in the coming weeks...

Today is World Theatre Day so what better way to mark the occasion than to see what shows you can catch on the stage at the moment?

Exactly! Here are the best of the bunch…

Calamity Jane – Grand Opera House, Belfast (March 26th – March 30th)

Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickock help out their friend when he gets more than he bargained for from an actress he has hired. 

 

Carmen – Cork Opera House, Cork (April 5th – April 6th)

Nadia Stoianova has received rave reviews for her portrayal of Carmen in one of the most seductive productions ever written. 

The Full Monty – Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Dublin (April 8th – April 13th)

Based on the film, this show follows a group of unemployed men who decide to strip off in order to make a bit of money.

 

Billy Connelly – Gaiety Theatre, Dublin (April 9th – April 13th)

The greatest stand-up comedian of all time will be taking to the stage with hilarious stories and anecdotes for his ‘The Man Love Tour’ this month.

Oliver – Siamsa Tíre Theatre, Tralee (April 9th – April 14th)

The Charles Dickens classic of a boy who asks for more includes hits such as Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself and I’d Do Anything.
