Home and Away

Growing up would not have been the same without Home and Away. From falling head over heels with a number of different characters, to Sally reappearing and disappearing to good old Alf saying ‘stone the crows’ the You Know We Belong Together song was the soundtrack to our formative years.

Who could forget Shane’s death too?!

Hugh Jackman

No list about things from Australia that we are thankful for could be complete without Hugh Jackman. We think the picture speaks for itself.

Hugh Jackman (44) From his twinkling eyes to his dreamy smile to his powerful voice, looking at this Aussie hottie certainly doesn't make us miserable.

Koala Bears, Kangaroos and Quokkas

From cute koala bears to the wonderfully amazing kangaroos, Australia is an amazing place for animal lovers. Add in the quokka or ‘the happiest animal in the world’ and it couldn’t get any better!

Kylie Minogue

From those early days with Jason Donovan to her chart-topping dance hits, Kylie has always been a bit of a legend in our eyes.

The Brax Boys

We know, we know, we’ve talked about Home and Away already, but these beautiful lads deserve their own slot.

And more men…

Okay, it’s not our fault that Australia keeps producing fine specimens of manhood. This time, all hail the Hemsworth brothers. Sigh.

Today is a good day.

Neighbours

Hat tip to Home and Away’s sibling Neighbours. Toadie, Karl and Susan Kennedy, Harold Bishop and Lou kept the drama going for us.

Home to the jungle

Love it or hate it, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here has become a bit of an institution in terms of TV viewing and is set in the Australian jungle.

And finally… Wolf Creek

The movie that has scared people for many years, it is a firm favourite for fans of horror.

For us? Our worst nightmare.
