A 100-year-old tourist who had £1,400 stolen from him while on holidays had the money returned to him by the thief.
William White, from Arizona, had the sum stolen from his bum bag while on a recent trip to Gloucester.
White’s son Anthony, who accompanied him on the trip stated they would not reveal the identity of the thief, saying: “I believe whenever anything is taken and returned, that person should be completely anonymous.”

William was visiting the Cathedral city as part of a “bucket list” trip. It’s believed that the theft occurred when a passer-by helped him up after he slipped.
Discovering the money was missing left him “devastated”, but it appears the guilty party had a crisis of conscience after a police appeal.
Anthony added: “The money did turn up. Everything is fine. You don’t want to punish a person. That would not be necessary. The nice thing was, dad ended up with his money back.”
