Leaving the right tip at a restaurant can be tricky…
But in this case, we think this woman got it bang on.
When Ellie Parker brought her girlfriend for a romantic Valentine’s dinner at a restaurant called Asahi in Indiana, US, she gave her chef a tip that he deserved.
According to Ellie, the couple were enjoying their first Valentine’s dinner… until the chef arrived at the table to grill their food for them.
She took to Facebook to describe what happened next, writing:
“He got to my girlfriend and I and asked where our Valentine’s were. We told him we were each other’s Valentine’s.”
However, that wasn’t enough for the helpful chef, who let the girls know that he would go home with them if they needed him to “heat things up” for them.
When it came to leaving a tip at the end of the meal, the girl’s decided that he could do with some words of wisdom instead.
They wrote on the bill:
“Don’t tell lesbians they need a man on Valentine’s day”.
Ellie’s Facebook post quickly went viral, and the restaurant in question served her with a refund and an apology.
However, for Ellie, “nothing can make up for the way we were treated.”
I'm not normally one to complain on social media, but the service I had at dinner tonight warrants a little complaining….
