This June, saw writers and fans of horror descend on New Orleans as the winners of the 2012 Bram Stoker Awards were announced.
Organised by the Horror Writers Association, the event took place at a banquet held as part of the Bram Stoker Awards Weekend, which this year also incorporated the World Horror Convention.
15 terrifying haunted-house styled statuettes were handed out to the lucky prizewinners.
This year’s winners included director Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard for their screenplay Cabin in the Woods, author Caitlín R. Kiernan for her novel The Drowning Girl and sci-fi writer and poet Marge Simon for her book on Vampires, Zombies & Wanton Souls.

Robert R. McCammon, writer of the famous The Wolf’s Hour and Stinger, accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award, and Mark Miller accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of English author and film director Clive Barker.
