Temperatures are set to plunge to minus six tonight in Munster and Leinster.
Met Éireann issued a status orange alert for the region form tonight, with air temperatures in the region to drop between 8pm tonight until Thursday at 10am.
A status yellow warning has been put in place for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal, where temperatures will fall to minus three or four degrees.
