Garth Brooks mania has descended on the country in recent weeks as the country singer announced plans to play in Croke Park. Although initially there were only to be two concert dates, another date was announced due to the scores of fans hoping for tickets.
These three dates sold out, but this still wasn’t enough to satisfy the demand and a further two dates sold out today.
The Standing Outside The Fire singer will play at Croke Park on Friday July 25th, Saturday (26th), Sunday (27th), Monday (28th) and Tuesday (29th).
If you managed to get your hand on a golden Garth ticket, then next on your list is accommodation.

Here’s what you should do and see when in the capital city.
Shopping
The hustle and bustle of a large city combined with the variety of shops guarantees both bargains and signature statement pieces. From the high street to designer labels to vintage boutiques, shopping in Dublin means you are spoilt for choice.
Music
Indie, rock, pop, soul, jazz and classical genres are popular with intimate gigs in Vicar Street, rousing sessions in Whelan’s and open air stadium concerts in Croke Park. Garth Brooks is playing five Dublin dates in July due to a huge demand and finding a hotel for the night is important as accommodation will book out quickly. The singer has made headlines in recent weeks and Dublin is the place to be for these five nights!
Sightseeing
There is so much to do in Dublin, it’s the type of city that can still turn up hidden haunts even when you’ve lived there for years. There’s the obligatory trip to Trinity College, a walk in Phoenix Park and a visit to the magnificent Christchurch Cathedral. There’s also numerous markets for keen foodies (try Temple Bar, central location and a feast for the taste buds), Blessington Street Basin (also known as Dublin’s secret garden), only a short stroll from O’Connell Street, and Dublin Castle.
Seaside
Sunny Dublin is a sight to behold and the picturesque Stephen’s Green is a beautiful spot to enjoy a lazy lunchtime. However, it doesn’t have to be blazing sunshine to enjoy the capital’s amenities. A brisk walk on Sandymount beach is a popular pastime regardless of the weather and Dun Laoghaire will remind you of childhood trips to the seaside. A Teddy’s ice-cream cone is a must have when visiting the pretty pier.
Food
Food is one of life’s greatest pleasures and Dublin won’t disappoint on this front. The options are endless: delicious brunch menus, seafood and sushi galore, hearty Italian dishes and fine gourmet dining. Let’s stop before the hunger pangs prove too much but safe to say, a foodie’s experience in Dublin is sure to be successful.
